Today more than a quarter of all marriages in England between a man and a woman take place in the traditional setting of a Church of England church. You're welcome to marry in church whatever your beliefs, whether or not you are baptised and whether or not you go to church.
Planning your wedding
Everyone is welcome to have their children christened in their parish church. During the christening service your child will be baptised and with the support of the church, you and Godparents, your child begins an amazing journey of faith
All you need to know about planning and going to a Church of England christening can be found here:
It also includes information about another church service to
say thank you for God for your baby.
Taking the step of faith to be confirmed is a big decision.
As a child you may have been baptised, as an adult you make the declarations of faith that a parent makes on behalf of a child.
To be confirmed you will be expected to attend confirmation classes over a number of weeks to learn more about Christianity, the Church and to explore your personal journey of faith. The course will equip you to grow in your faith.
Courses run periodically so
please get in touch
with one of our Team Vicars
for further information.
